Problems with copy and paste between different drawings

The units ... when the units in the source drawing and destination drawing are different, then a scaling can happen, which results in very small or very big pasted content, too small to see the items or too big to see the items without zoom-extents

Solved: Copy layer to another drawing
If you have DesignCenter open but cannot transfer layers to another file, you must have the target drawing open and current. In DesignCenter, if the source drawing is open, you can set the Open Drawings tab current, find the current drawing in the left pane, select the "+" next to it to expand it and choose the Layers item under it.

Solved: How to import cad as detail lines
To import CAD as detail lines use the check box in the import dialog log "current view only" this will impor tthe CAD file as detail lines. To convert a line from model to detail (or vice versa) select the line and use the convert tool on the contextual tab.

CAD drawings are not always constructed to scale and when created with great precision the value is the nominal size and does not reflect the allowed tolerance. There are rules for tolerancing in drawings of manufactures parts. The tolerance may be specified explicitly in a dimension line or implicitly via the precision of the dimension line value.
