How do I beat the baroness?
If your really having a hard time with her. Make sure you have a mage that can use Force Field and Crushing prison. When a portal pops up Force Field the baroness and have your party destroy the portal. Its helpful to have ANders and Valenna this way so you have to spells and you don't have to wait for one mage to cool down.

I think you have to use the "Hold Position" command, then manually move one character onto a different set of pads. It seems to disable his stupid teleporting. Of course, that may be because I massacre his supporting actors at the same time. Don't bother with Force Field or Crushing Prison, he teleports out of them.

How do you use an arcane warrior effectively?
Using this, i normally go into battle with my arcane warrior casting crush prison, blood control, force field, mind blast, shimmering shield, glyph of repulsion, fireball/cone of cold and blizzard/inferno followed by all defense spells and finally combat magic which by then he will have practically everyone chasing him.

Crushing Prison Overrated?
One thing that some of you seem to forget is how CoC works on bosses too unlike the other ones you mention. CoC can keep white units frozen 24/7, yellow units giving them only about a second of freedom before you can cast it again, and orange units about 1/3-1/2 of the time supposing you recast it a bunch when you can.

It's pretty much the new Crushing Prison, since Crushing Prison was nerfed to uselessness. Similarly, we have to know about attributes, so we notice that (for example) +20% Def is junk while +25% Armor is good for Hawke (since you have really high armor anyway). I didn't like playing a mage though, because Carver can go suck an ogre.

Crushing Prison
Crushing prison will lock up targets and slowly damage their HP. Its used mainly to target the big baddies in parties. When you start getting mages you'll learn that this can be a life saver. If you want to lock targets up though paralyze and mass paralyze will do better jobs at it, but they don't near-kill their targets.

Blood Mage + Spirit Healer = Best class in the game
AW is great if you have a 2 mage party. If you're only bringing a single mage for whatever reason, spirit healer > arcane warrior. Blood wound is absolutely ridiculous. Giant AoE crushing prison? Also, does anybody else find it odd that Wynn won't complain if you have her learn blood magic. Seems like something the Circle would frown upon.

ummm casting force field on the tank when you're fighting say a Grand Dragon is extremely useful. so long as the tank taunts beforehand he should be able to maintain aggro. and then your magi can focus on killing the enemy instead of healing the tank.-i consider force field the most useful and versatile ability in the game.-blood wound takes 2nd place.
