The Sukari Gold Mine (SGM) in the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt is the largest gold mine in the Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS) and the first modern mining operation in Egypt and in the ANS to use cyanidation in gold processing. Thus, lessons learned from this study will be relevant to the growing and prosperous gold mining industry in the ANS.
